Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast nominated in internet-centric awards show
Jason and Travis Kelce have always been well-known names across the NFL. But for people who aren’t fans of football, they were just two players.
But not anymore. And much of that is due to Taylor Swift.
Travis, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, sparked rumors prior to the 2023 season over a potential romance with Swift. And it was all confirmed when she showed up to a game last year. Fast forward to now, Swift became a regular during Chiefs games, even making the trip to their playoff run that ended with a Super Bowl championship.
So, because of their romance, Travis earned a whole new group of fans. And that also extended to the rest of his family including Jason and his wife Kylie Kelce, along with their parents Ed and Donna Kelce.
Jason and Travis launched a podcast together in September 2022, but due to the singer’s romance with Travis, Swifties from all over are now big fans of the NFL. So they tune in each and every week on Wednesday’s to hear what the brothers have to say.
And maybe even see if they can catch a comment about Swift.
Because of the podcast’s increased success, New Heights has been nominated in the Sports, Shows (Podcasts) category at the 2024 Webby Awards.
These awards are “the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet,” and was even referred to by the New York Times as “The Internet’s highest honor.”
The nominees were announced on Tuesday based on 13,000 entries from over 70 countries. There will be two winners from each category, with one decided by a group of selected voters while the others are based on who the people decide.
Travis was also nominated in another category alongside Swift. So he could walk away with two wins.
The 2024 Webby Awards will take place on May 13 in New York City.
